President’s Message
The best way to beat the heat -- start thinking about snow covered peaks, taking a blue cruiser or slaying a glorious glade, right? We must keep believing that the Club’s Winter travel season is just around the corner!
BUT, guess what, you can beat the heat August 12th. Cozy up with some of your best buddies and learn a bit more about YOUR Orlando Ski and Travel Club at our August Social and Town Hall Gathering. It’s our opportunity to share some insights and plans, and for you to share your questions and ideas.
Back in 1976 a group of folks had the great idea of forming a non-profit social club that met the IRS guidelines of being supported by membership fees and dues providing opportunities for personal social contact among members participating in activities stemming from a shared interest and love for recreation, snow sports, and travel. Through the years our volunteers have led group trips to top-rated winter destinations and have expanded to exploration and adventure trips to international locations and American favorites. Local activities that continue to bring us together further deliver on the social purpose of the organization
Today’s volunteers who serve on the Board of Directors and Travel Committee along with the Trip Leaders and Assistants, Activity Leaders, and members of the newly added Activities Committee and Marketing and Membership Committee all have OUR members best interest in mind when making decisions on what activities and services are provided, as well as how member funds are utilized. Thank them for their service and let us know how we’re doing.
Over the years we’ve been blessed with individuals who served as President, some still hold active lifetime memberships in the Club. We know how much effort they put into making the Club all that it is today – Thank you: David Miller, Ed Rogner, Bobye Townsend, Tom Lovett, Susan Fowler O’Sullivan, Karyn Angel, John Smith, Laurie Vest, Lillian Feuvrel, Dale Ulmer, Shelley Daniel, Earl Schuette, Bob Mackey, Kathryn Hardage, Rhonda Ulmer, and Steve Clark.
