The rafting trip to Blue Ridge, Georgia and Chattanooga, Tennessee 2 weeks ago was a huge success. Many of you have already seen some of the photos taken by Michelle Abbott, our Marketing Director during the trip which she attended. I heard she may also be working on a video... ☺️ We enjoyed a vast array of activities including kayaking, hiking, rafting, pontoon boats on the lake, group cooking, fishing, arcade games, pool, foosball, a local rodeo, sunset river cruise, board games, and even a wonderful impromptu opera concert by new club member Julie Batman held in an abandoned amphitheater we stumbled across in the middle of Tennessee nature!
I can’t wait for the cooler October weather to set in for a weekend of splashing, paddling, pedaling, and hiking at Lake Louisa State Park in Clermont, FL. Remember that everyone, including your friends, are invited to attend the activities at the Lake Louisa Cabin weekend Oct 14th-16th. Come out for the day and join the group activities (as it’s a Florida State Park), even if you’re not reserved to stay overnight in one of the sold-out cabins.
Many of you have been providing some great new ideas for local activities (like Alfond Inn Art Gallery Happy Hour) and Amy McClurg, VP of Local Activities, will continue to coordinate more local outings soon. The details can be found on our Meetup.com website www.meetup.com/skiing-96/
so that you can make plans to attend. Also, please RSVP on the meetup site to let us know you’ll be attending these monthly socials and special events. We hope to see all of you at the new (to us) Monthly Club Social location on Wednesday September 14th – “AnTobar Irish Bar”. It’s an authentic Irish Bar located inside the Sheraton Hotel just off the I-4 Maitland Blvd exit in Maitland.
Enjoy your Holiday Weekend!
