President's Message

Hello Orlando Ski and Adventure Travel Club members!  

We have our ski trips for 2022 planned and almost buttoned up. We were able to obtain a 2 more spaces for Taos, New Mexico FSC Ski Trip but the deadline for Taos signups is now! Sign up this week or we will need to release those additional rooms we are holding at The Blake. A few remaining spaces are available for Jackson Hole, Wyoming as well.

On Saturday, October 23rd more than 20 club members came out to celebrate Oktoberfest with the Orlando German Society in Casselberry. It was such a great event with German Food everywhere, beer, dancing and some singing. Tons of laughs! I am so looking forward to our Club putting this on our calendar again next year. 6 new people also showed up wanting to check out our club and hang with our members. We notify you of these local club gatherings on our Meetup page.

Save the date of Thursday, December 16th at 6pm for the Orlando Ski and Travel Club Christmas Party at Ace Café. We have the large upstairs space reserved at Ace and our own DJ for the party. The club likes to support Toys for Tots each year so please keep this endeavor in mind once you start your Christmas shopping.

Something new we'll be starting soon is our Club Member Spotlight! This will be a nice opportunity to get to know your fellow members a little more intimately. Stay tuned for our 1st member spotlight.

Our Christmas Market River Cruise in Europe leaves later this month. I hope everyone going on that trip has a wonderful time. Our Christmas Market River Cruise in Europe is currently underway. I’m hoping everyone going on that trip has a wonderful time. The trip leaders for this exciting trip are Dale and Rhonda Ulmer who have both been past presidents of our club. They have also been board members, trip leaders, and trip committee members. They have made great personal sacrifices to keep this club growing and have helped us find our passion for group travel. 

Dale and Rhonda recently made the decision to move to Loveland, Colorado to be closer to their grandchildren, enjoy a little bit of farm life and have easy access to the slopes. I expect they will continue to meet up with us on future trips where we look forward to seeing them again.  We wish them great success in their transition to new surroundings and to the beautiful western country.
