Hello SOCIALS ARE BACK, CHECK BELOW IN NEWSLETTER | | | March is here and the first day of spring is less than three weeks away. I just love the beautiful yellow Tabebuia flowers and Azalea blooms – the days are getting longer, and we are starting to see a warming trend… but not in Zermatt, Utah where temperatures are currently -13. Kathryn Hardage, will be leaving in a few weeks with very enthusiastic group of skiers – it will be cold but sure to be a great time. We are thankful that we had a ski season and pray that the worst of the pandemic is behind us. Now that COVID numbers are trending down, and with the warmer weather greening things up, we will have our first social of the year—a green one! Robin Beckman has reserved a location for us at the Sanford Brewing Company at 160 Independence Lane, Suite B, Maitland for March 10th from 6:00-8:00pm. WEAR SOME GREEN for an early St. Patrick’s party! Until the CDC loosens the guidelines, we still want everyone to be safe and it is recommended that you wear a mask when not actively eating or drinking. We have a busy month in May. Jackie Warren will lead the great adventure to Arizona and the Grand Canyon. Peru is open to tourism, which means Amy McClurg can finally lead her eager group to see the mysteries of Machu Picchu in Peru. What an amazing trip that will be. Elections are just around the corner in May also. Dale Ulmer is working with his committee to provide you with recommendations for the Elected Board for 2021/2022. Remember, if you or you know of someone interested in running for office, just complete the Elected Officers Interest Form included in this Newsletter. The Ballot will be announced in the May Newsletter and posted on the Website as well. Remember, OSTC is run by volunteers - we need your talents to continue to have a successful club! See you at the Social…Happy St. Patrick’s Day!!!

PERU – 11 days! May 25th - June 5th, 2021 or 25th - 6th
Marvel at ancient wonders and modern culture during this once in a lifetime trip. Check Machu Picchu off your bucket list! Immerse yourself in Peru! In Lima, we’ll discover some of the country’s best museums, churches, historic plazas and bustling shopping areas— including a private tour of the famously yellow Baroque Church of San Francisco. From there we fly to breathtaking Cuzco where we’ll discover Cuzco’s ancient sites, explore modern Andean culture with a visit to Chinchero, a weaving village high in the mountains, as well as take a rafting trip the Urubama River and a train ride through the Sacred Valley. From there, we head to Machu Picchu. Located on a mountaintop 8,000 feet above sea level in the Peruvian Andes, the city was built with residential, military, and religious areas. Our small group will visit the spectacular ruins twice, allowing us for a deeper exploration of the site after the crowds are gone. We’ll witness the Intihuatana (a sundial-like megalith), the Temple of the Sun, and the Room of the Three Windows in Machu Picchu’s Sacred District.
