Rain rain go away! It’s much more FUN to be wet on the Chattooga River participating in the upcoming Orlando Ski and Travel Club’s Blue Ridge July 31st rafting trip! For our second visit, we will again stay in a luxurious estate located directly on the Toccoa River with outdoor firepit and every imaginable amenity for entertainment inside the 10,000 sq ft estate! There will be hiking, white water rafting, elbow curls, fine home cooked dining! Then wrap that up with a night in historic downtown Savannah and a Ghost Tour, all included! In addition to our Monthly 2nd Wednesday Social, we enjoyed a fun and delicious evening at the Meatball Stoppe with animated & entertaining Chef Isabella providing a live cooking demonstration and instruction. Followed by dining on her wonderfully delicious creations! For June, OSTC will have our own private guided Walking Tour of the Historic District of Sanford. This will be about a two-mile walk, followed by dinner at Fuel, old school low and slow BBQ restaurant, then enjoy Blues Jam at the attached The Alley. We will be staying in a cabin on stilts waterfront with an incredible double decker dock. On Saturday we will kayak the crystal clear Ichetucknee Springs River with adventure guide and Florida Historian, Lars Anderson, followed that evening by catered local BBQ. Sunday we will play dockside in the back yard on the Suwannee with kayaks and pontoon boat. Please RENEW now! At the May Social, OSTC held our annual Business Meeting and Election of Officers. Thank you for participating with the Voting, I will lead the Club again for the upcoming year. Our other returning officers are Steve Clark, VP of Trips; Jackie Warren, Treasurer; and, Rhonda Ulmer, Secretary. We welcome incoming VP of Year-Round Activities, LeeAnn Trimble. We extend a HUGE Thank You to Debbie Ashworth who has done an outstanding job in the VP of Year-Round role for the last two years! I also wish to thank the Board of Directors for their leadership during the 2017-18 year and to our Ski Trip Leaders for this ski season. It was a good one! As we endure the heat of summer, divert your thoughts to cooler months of skiing! Our annual Trip Kick Off Event will be Sunday, July 29th from 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Dubsdread. Soon you’ll receive an email announcing the Trip Summary for 2018-19 season. It’s another exciting lineup, sign up quick! OSTC’s Monthly Social will be at Ale House Weds, June 13th and our Funday Humpday Social for 20, 30 & 40 year olds will be at Ace Café, Weds, June 20th.

The Meatball Stoppe RECAP
Betsy Miller, OSTC Membership Director, hosted our May event at The Meatball Stoppe. This restaurant and it's chef Isabella Morgia di Vacari was featured by Guy Fieri on the Food Network's hit show "Diners, Drive Ins and Dives" for good reason. We were wined, dined, entertained, and learned a few great cooking tips at this cooking demonstration and dinner. 16 people attended, some long time club members and a great group of new faces. Now I know why people attend this event again and again. We made an amazing Creamy Tomato Basil Soup, chicken scallping, Farro salad with arugula chickpeas and feta, creamy polenta, a surprise desert, variety of Italian wines and expressor with Zabaglinone. yum. Great fun.

Historic Sanford Walking Tour, Dinner & Blues Jam Sunday, 6/10/18 @ 5:00pm Join us as we take an abbreviated historical walking tour (about 2 miles) in the Sanford Historic District of homes and commercial buildings. OSTC Treasurer Jackie Warren leads monthly tours throughout Central Florida and will be sharing the stories behind the well preserved locations on the National Historic Registry. Leisurely pace on the city sidewalks. Wear comfortable walking shoes and casual attire. Don't forget to bring a bottle of water for the walk.
We'll head to the Alley / Fuel BBQ for dinner, drinks and their Sunday evening Blues Jam. Cash or credit cards accepted at the venue, no cover for entertainment. If you can't join us for the walking tour, join us at The Ally!
Street parking is available on Park Avenue, 2nd Street, and Oak Avenue, along with several other public lots in the area. We'll meet on the patio at Fuel BBQ - 120 S. Park Avenue, Sanford, FL
