Orlando Ski Club December Events include OSC Holiday Party and Pre-Holiday Trip to Aspen

Go to for details.

And so it begins!!  OSC's Pre-Holiday trip to Aspen departs on December 8th.  Both Aspen & Snowmass opened on Thanksgiving Day and continue to get snow.

And set aside the evening of December 14th for OSC's Holiday Party, see details below

President's Message

Ski season officially begins for OSC on Dec 8th as 38 OSC skiers, boarders and adventure’s head to Aspen for early season skiing & to delight in the pre-holiday spirit, as Aspen will be decorated in prime fashion!

As a Thank You to OSC Membership, your Board of Directors is planning a very special HOLIDAY PARTEE  for you at a unique venue! On Wednesday, Dec 14th, we’ll meet at a NEW venue, Ferg’s Depot, the newly restored historic 1889 train station in downtown Orlando! It’s BEAUTIFUL with a really lively fun atmosphere!

As OSC has done for years now, we will help the Marines collect Toys for Tots! For admission, please bring a new unwrapped gift for a child or make a $10 cash donation for the Marines. Help make the holidays Merry for a needy child! We are honored this year to have OSC Member, Retired Captain Chuck Valence, join us as spokesperson for the Marines, plus a second Marine rep to accept the Toys.

We’ll begin the evening in our holiday attire with a complimentary beer or wine for OSC members during Happy Hour (6:00-7:00 p.m.), mingling with other members and making new friends while enjoying heavy appetizers. Around 7:00ish we’ll present our gifts to the Marines and have a drawing for a few of the door prizes. At 7:30 our DJ will crank up the tunes and we’ll have dancing until 9:30! Mid-way we’ll take a little break & draw for the remaining door prizes, all prizes will be gift cards to local restaurants!

Park in the SunTrust Tower parking garage or better yet …ride SunRail for a more relaxing trip with no parking details. It literally picks up ten steps from the party venue! Check here for schedule This is going to be a great evening, please join us! Bring a friend, Guest Welcome!

At you, our Members, request, I am thrilled to announce OSC will be launching multiple Adventure Travel trips in the near future. Our first Adventure Travel trip for June 2017 is on an 82’ classic restored Windjammer Schooner sailing vessel. The adventure is in the protected waters, off the scenic coast of Maine. There is very limited space, sign up quickly!

One of OSC’s associate partners is the Orlando Runner’s Club. I’d like to join them in welcoming seven runners from their Sister City of Urayasu, Japan!  As part of a Cultural Exchange Program between the Orlando Runners Club and the Urayasu Runners Club, runners from the URC are coming to Orlando to run in the OUC Orlando Half Marathon this week. Then in February ORC runners go to Urayasu for a race. Love the idea, love the sharing and love the strength of their Board to facilitate the active itinerary planning and personal members in home hosting. What country should OSC look to start an exchange program with? Oh…that’s right, no snow skiing/boarding in Florida.

Wishing all a very wonderful holiday season! May your stockings be stuffed with snowflakes! See you on the slopes soon!
